GO & Relics

GO, the game’s coin

Every fish you sell, every bounty and every prize pays you in GO (short for GameOnline). Inside the game, GO buys gear, upgrades, boat parts and more. You don’t need a wallet for any of that.

If you connect MetaMask, you can also withdraw GO from the game to your wallet, and deposit it back later. GO is an ERC-20 token on Polygon PoS.

Withdrawing, at the time of writing

• Connect MetaMask from the title screen or the Account page in the game. Your wallet can withdraw one day after you connect it.
• At least 10 GO a time, with a 2% fee (at least 1 GO). Up to 5,000 GO a day, once an hour. Larger withdrawals wait for the game team to approve them.
• The game signs a voucher and you send it from MetaMask, so you pay the network fee (“gas”) in POL, usually a few cents.

Relics, items you can own

Rare and better gear (rods, reels, lures, nets, pets and more) can be forged into a Relic: an NFT in your wallet. A Relic still works in the game exactly as before, and its level and wear keep changing as you use it.

• Record Relics: set a size record, have Grandma Dao make the trophy, and forge it into a Relic. It shows the fish, its size and your name for good.
• Achievement outfits: hats and coats you earned through achievements can be forged too. Whoever holds the Relic wears it, and the name of who earned it stays on it forever.
• Fusion: three epic Relics of a kind can be fused into one legendary.
• Forging costs GO, all of which is retired for good, plus a little gas.

The Relic Bazaar

Relics are bought and sold with GO on the game’s own Bazaar, on Community Isle. Each sale has a 4% fee (half retired, half to the game team) and a 2.5% royalty. During the test phase, outside marketplaces can’t list Relics.

Moon Lock

Lock some GO for 30, 90 or 180 days and get it all back afterwards, with no interest. While it is locked you get comforts in the game: more market slots, a seat even when the islands are full, and a title.

Where all the GO is

There will only ever be 1,000,000,000 GO. It was all created once, when the contracts were deployed, and split like this:

The Moon Ledger shows the live numbers: what has been paid out, spent, retired, deposited and withdrawn, and that the vault holds everything it owes players.

Safety

• The game’s server never holds your keys and never sends transactions for you. Everything that moves on the chain is signed by you in MetaMask.
• Every contract is verified, so anyone can read its code. Changes can only be made by the game team’s multisig, which needs two of three people to agree.
• Never share your secret recovery phrase with anyone, including anyone who says they are from Fishing Fun. We will never ask for it.
